Why I Order Gates Belts When the Deadline Actually Matters

A purchasing story about a last-minute motorcycle drive belt, a cross-reference search, and the real cost of uncertain delivery.

It was 8:40 on a Tuesday when the lead mechanic leaned into my office. 'The demo bike is dead,' he said. 'The drive belt shredded.'

That's not the message you want three days before a customer event. The bike was supposed to be at an outdoor demo ride on Saturday with a few serious buyers watching.
